Salut tout le monde,

A ma grande surprise, l'accès à ce blog n'était plus disponible suite à la désactivation de mon compte par mon hébergeur. Ceci en raison des spams automatiques générés à la place des commentaires légitimes, spams qui remplissaient de manière incontrôlée ma base de données. Du coup, mon hébergeur a supprimé la table des commentaires et j'ai donc perdu par la même occasion tous les commentaires légitimes qui avaient été faits.
J'ai donc demandé la réactivation de mon espace personnel et donc l'accès à ce blog est de nouveau possible, par contre j'ai dû désactiver la possibilité de mettre des commentaires!

Voilà, peut-être que je recréerai un bog pour continuer celui-ci avec cette fois les nouvelles protections existantes pour empêcher les spams automatiques. J'y mettrai alors le lien sur ce post.

Hello everyone!

I haven't given any news with this blog for quite a while! Then, most of you may not go and see if it has been updated anymore. Hopefully still some of you keep watching it!! Anyway, I still want to go on with this blog and to finish what I began!

So here we go :-) Recently, quite a lot of things changed for me as I was in transition between my student life and my working life as an engineer. I think some of you (Reiko, Emi, Naomi, Sandrine...) are or were in the same situation not that long ago!

I left the town of Châteaugiron very close to Rennes (North West of France) at the end of my internship in Rennes in the company Thomson Broadcast & Multimedia. Indeed I finished my internship on the 22nd of December 2006. Then I came back to my home town where my parents live --> Angers. I had time then to tidy up and sort quite a lot of things related to my year abroad in Australia and my 6 months in Rennes. I was quite late doing that cos I had just one week transition between my come-back to France and the beginning of my internship in Rennes. I would still have a few things to do that I didn't have/take much time to do (such as taking care of this blog for instance!!) but I'm already thinking of going back to Rennes to work now!

Indeed, a week ago (Friday, 26th of January) I learned officially that I was accepted for an engineer position in the company Thomson Broadcast & Multimedia (TBM) where I did my internship. I won't do the same work however as I was working in the validation team for my internship and as this time, my position would be as a support engineer.

Concerning the company Thomson Broadcast & Multimedia, it develops services platforms for television and mobile phones. Its biggest client in France is France Telecom with its product named Orange TV that has more than 500 000 users. It has some similarities with the added services on television channels from the Austar system we had on Weerona College TV room television.

Indeed TBM develops a main product and then makes a different version for each of its customer (such as France Telecom), and this product aims at adding services to broadcasted live TV channels. It adds zapping bands with details on what's currently on TV, what's coming up next or came before, at what time, when will be possible reruns, what are the other languages available for the ongoing program... There is also a TV program, we can plan any recordings directly on this electronic TV program, we can pause the live and play it after with then a few minutes difference compared to real live (time shifting service)... We have access as well to a Video On Demand portal, where we can choose any movie, TV series, music to download for immediate watching/listening or up to 24 hours after the download. But there are many other services such as the worldwide weather forecast, payment services for home shopping, online video games structures and so on. This product is not only developed for TV but also for mobile phones (even though it is more restrictive in that case...).

Otherwise, the support engineer position for which I applied consists in English presentations for customers, customers trainings, but also in putting into production the systems by installing and deploying the TV and mobile phones services platforms at customer places that are a bit everywhere in the world and ensuring customer satisfaction by tracking its installed platforms status. We also provide support and fix any problem (by phone or at customers' places) customers may encounter. Thus this job mainly consists in customer presentations, trainings, follow-ups, platforms deployments and support.

I'm happy with it cos it needs both scientific/technical and linguistic skills as I was looking for. I'll be working in cutting edge technologies, moreover I like working in the fields of digital television and mobile phones, and I'll need to speak in different languages as most of our customers can't speak French.

By the way another important thing I was told officially recently is the fact that I'll be graduated from my French engineer school and that my internship results were rather good :-)

I don't know for you but here in France it was snowing not that long ago (I will add pictures asap)! I will go on my started posts asap as well.

Coucou tout le monde!

Cela fait bien longtemps que je n'ai pas donné de nouvelles à travers ce blog. La plupart d'entre vous ont d'ailleurs sûrement perdu l'habitude maintenant d'aller y jeter un oeil, mais c'est pas grave. J'ai encore envie d'y écrire et de finir ce que j'ai commencé.

Alors voilà. Ces derniers temps il y a eu beaucoup de changements pour moi vu que j'étais en pleine transition entre ma vie d'étudiant et la vie active.

J'ai quitté Châteaugiron à côté de Rennes à la fin de mon stage au sein de Thomson Broadcast & Multimedia le 22 décembre dernier. Je suis retourné sur Angers chez mes parents. J'ai pu faire pas mal de tri dans mes affaires, faut dire que j'avais accumulé pas mal de retard avec mes un an en Australie et 6 mois de stage à Rennes et seulement une semaine de transition entre les deux! Je n'ai pas eu le temps de faire tout ce que je voulais, dont par exemple m'occuper de ce blog!! mais le chemin de retour sur Rennes approche déjà à nouveau!

Je viens en effet d'apprendre de manière officielle à la fin de cette semaine que j'étais accepté pour travailler à Thomson. Je ne serai pas dans la même unité que celle de mon stage (validation), je passe en ingénieur support.

Concernant mon entreprise: Thomson Broadcast & Multimedia (TBM), elle travaille dans tout ce qui est plate-formes de services pour la télévision et les téléphones portables. Son plus gros client est France Telecom avec le produit MaLigneTV rebaptisé Orange TV il y a quelques temps. Si vous voyez en quoi consiste ce produit, vous comprendrez en gros ce pour quoi je travaille.

Pour essayer de faire simple, TBM développe un produit générique et le spécialise selon les clients tels que France Telecom. Ce produit permet d'ajouter des services sur la télévision (bandeau indiquant ce qui passe en ce moment, après et avant, à quelle heure, quand seront les rediffusions, changer la langue de la bande son...), il y a aussi la consultation du programme TV, la gestion des enregistrements à partir de ce programme, la pause sur le direct et remise en lecture en décalé (time shifting)... Mais il y a aussi la fameuse VOD --> Video on Demand, c'est-à-dire un catalogue numérique de choix de films, séries, musiques téléchargeables pour les regarder/écouter immédiatement ou pendant les 24 prochaines heures... Mais c'est aussi la gestion de plein de services annexes (téléachat, météo, jeux en ligne...). Et ce produit est développé pour la TV, mais a aussi son équivalent pour les téléphones portables bien que plus limité.

Sinon, le poste d'ingénieur support pour lequel j'ai postulé, cela consiste en des formations de clients exclusivement en anglais, de la mise en production/ déploiement des plate-formes de services pour la télévision et les téléphones portables et du suivi pour ces clients répartis un peu partout dans le monde, du dépannage téléphonique ou sur place... Ce travail intervient donc en phases d'opérations - formation clients - déploiement et support.

Cela correspond à ce que je recherchais car cela allie le côté scientifique et linguistique. Je travaillerai en effet dans des technologies très récentes et le domaine de la télévision et des téléphones portables me plaît bien, et je pourrai aussi utiliser les langues en travaillant avec de nombreux clients étrangers.

Sinon c'est également maintenant officiel, je vais recevoir le diplôme d'ingénieur Eseo.

Hey everybody!

Quite difficult to post on this blog regularly! I think it's difficult for me to keep some moments free so as to take up some time to immerse myself again in my memories, but they're still there! and it's still very enjoyable to think of all those good times again, and to think of everyone who was there at those very moments!
I still have trouble getting used to living again as I used to, in France, but I think the main reason for that is because my life is constantly moving on!! Barely did I get used to living in Châteaugiron in French Brittany, that I have to move on, to think of what I'll do and where I'll go once my internship will be done!

I've been thinking of writing such a post for a while, so, to change a bit from my tourists posts :-), here come 2 posts about unforgettable memories, parties that happened while I was still in Australia, during my 2nd session!

First Wednesday night

The 1st wednesday night of my 2nd session, cos as you all know, wednesdays are kind of students night in Wollongong... The bus takes us to Glasshouse, but we often end up at Cooney's, bigger and greater.

You can see me with Reiko, Naomi and Naoko on the 2nd picture, then you can see a bottle of Cointreau!! on the shelf, an alcohol from my French home town (Angers)!!! I definitely didn't know it was that much known outside of my French town!! And then are a few pictures with Reiko.

Commencement dinner

Big event in Autumn sessions where everybody has to be well dressed up, and for which there's a big photo of all residents that'll end up on the wall with all others in the TV room.
On the pictures we can see the French guys: Fred, M-ric and Phil then myself, Ian and M-ric, Naomi and Reiko, Dixon and me, Reiko and me, Chinese, Hongkese and Japanese girls, the dinner table, Emi, me and Kate.

Artsfest

The Arts' festival where some people were really talented!! Some of them had really beautiful voices!! At this festival, everyone could come to sing or play any musical instrument.

Angus the guitarist on the picture has really the Australian surfer hair style I think!!

Naoko's birthday

Birthday of a nice Japanese friend, Naoko's birthday was the 1st time we had a big birthday card made up mainly by the Japanese from Weerona. Those cards are really impressive and nice!

Kate's birthday

Birthday of an Australian girl Emeric and I went to. Costumes required: Bogan (see Emeric) or Bollywood (see myself :-)). Brogan corresponds to the Outback Australian way of dressing up, plaid shirts and leather hats required :-)

Mid-session party

Big event of Weerona College for the middle of the session. We had to come dressed-up as golfers or Tennis players.

Shave for Cure

Event for which we could shave our head and donate for people affected by leukaemia. Temporary hair styles were quite impressive!

Rap night

Rap party... I remember Emi teaching me a few dance steps (I don't remember which kind of dance it was, hip hop?) But I didn't dance a lot at that party, or at least not rap dance!

Hypnosis

Big hypnosis show!!
At first I wanted to go on the stage because I was wondering if they could hypnotize me, but there were so many volunteers that I let all those people go rather than going myself! And after that, with hindsight, I think it was finally a better idea, all the more as it enabled me to watch the show which was at times quite funny! I remember that I liked for instance when a shark appeared whereas they were all thinking being fish, their reactions were really funny :-) It's impressive all they did or believed under hypnosis or with autosuggestion... to be very hot or freezing to death, to be a belly dancer, boxers, part of a big orchestra, to think the person next to us smells irresistibly good or on the contrary rather bad, or to be embarassed realizing the bad smell comes from us!, to be under the control of a voodoo doll, to be an alien, or to be an alien translator...

Sushi-crèpes party

A day during which I learned how to prepare and roll maki sushi, since the time I wanted to know how to do it! :-) I discovered at the same time a lot of new ingredients I didn't know! The not-yet rolled sushi is the one I did :-) Reiko offered us some Sake from her region as well :-), and we taught the non-French people how to toss French crèpes, or should I say Emeric did, because actually as for me I wasn't very good at tossing crèpes :-)

Coucou tout le monde!

Dur dur de publier régulièrement dans ce blog! Je crois que j'ai du mal à me réserver des moments pour replonger dans ces souvenirs, mais ils sont bien là, intacts dans ma mémoire!! Et c'est toujours aussi agréable de repenser à tous ces bons moments et à toutes ces personnes qui y sont liées!! J'ai toujours autant de mal à me réhabituer à une vie française, je crois que c'est en partie dû au fait que pour l'instant tout bouge tout le temps!! A peine je commençais à m'habituer à ma vie à Châteaugiron, qu'il est déjà temps pour moi de penser à mon après-stage, et à une vie encore différente.

Cela fait longtemps que je voulais le faire, alors pour faire une pause dans mes posts de touriste :-), voici 2 posts sur des souvenirs inoubliables, les soirées auxquelles j'ai participées durant mon second semestre en Australie :-)

First Wednesday night

Le premier mercredi soir de la session. En effet, tous les mercredi soir, c'était en quelque sorte soirée étudiante... Le bus nous menait à Glasshouse, mais on finissait souvent à Cooney's qui est plus grand et plus sympa.

Sur la 2ème photo il y a moi, Reiko, Naomi et Naoko, puis une étagère avec du Cointreau d'Angers, décidément plus connu que je le croyais!! et des photos avec Reiko.

Commencement dinner

Grand événement où l'on se doit d'être habillé "classe" des Autumn Sessions, c'est l'événement où il y a la grande photo de tous les résidents qui finira avec les photos des années précédentes dans la TV Room.

Sur les photos on voit les français: Fred, M-ric et Phil puis moi, Ian et M-ric, Naomi et Reiko, Dixon et moi, Reiko et moi, les Chinoises - Hong Kongaises et Japonaises, le repas, Emi, moi et Kate.

Artsfest

Le Arts' festival où certains avaient vraiment du talent!! Il y avait vraiment de très belles voix!! A ce festival tout le monde pouvait venir chanter et/ou jouer d'un instrument.

Remarque au passage Angus le guitariste de ces photos a vraiment la coiffure des surfers australiens :-), cheveux mi-longs, bouclés légèrement et décolorés par le soleil!!

Naoko's birthday

C'était l'anniversaire d'une très bonne amie japonaise. Et c'est à cet anniversaire qu'il y a eu la première grande carte réalisée par les japonaises, les cartes d'anniversaire qu'elles font sont vraiment impressionnantes, super grandes et super sympa!!

Kate's birthday

Un anniversaire d'une australienne où Emeric et moi nous sommes allés. Déguisements exigés: Bogan (cf Emeric) ou Bollywood (cf moi-même :-)). Brogan correspond aux australiens de l'Outback, où chemise à carreau et chapeau de cuir sont de rigueurs :-)

Mid-session party

Grand événement de Weerona College, la soirée de milieu de session. A cette soirée nous devions venir soit en golfeurs, soit en Tennis Player.

Shave for Cure

Evénement où certains se rasent la tête et font une donation pour les gens atteints de Leucémie. Ce qui donne lieu à des coiffures temporaires assez impressionnantes :-)

Rap night

Soirée rap... je me rappelle que Emi m'avait montré des pas de danses hip hop? je ne sais plus, mais par contre je n'ai pas trop danser de rap!! :-)

Hypnosis

Grand spectacle d'hypnose!! Au début je voulais aller sur la scène, me demandant si on pouvait réussir à m'hypnotiser, mais il y avait tellement de volontaires que j'ai laissé les autres y aller :-) Et avec du recul c'était pas plus mal, cela m'a permis de pouvoir regarder le spectacle qui était bien marrant plutôt que de faire le spectacle :-). Il y a eu de nombreux moments marrants, je me souviens que j'avais bien aimé par exemple quand tout le monde se prenaient pour des poissons, mais que soudain un requin était apparu!! Trop marrant de voir les réactions de tous les poissons temporaires :-) C'est dingue tout ce que l'on peut se laisser faire ou tout ce que l'on peut croire sous hypnose, ou par autosuggestion... avoir super froid, mourir de chaud, être danseuse du ventre, boxeurs, faire partie d'un grand orchestre, trouver que son voisin sent irrésistiblement bon, ou à l'inverse se dire qu'il y a une drôle d'odeur autour de nous, ou être gêné car cette odeur vient de nous :-), être sous l'effet d'une poupée vaudou, être extraterrestre, être interprête extraterrestre...

Sushi-crèpes party

Une soirée où j'ai appris à faire des sushis, depuis le temps que je me demandais comment ils se faisaient exactement :-) J'y ai d'ailleurs aussi découvert par la même occasion de nombreux aliments que je ne connaissais pas :-) Le sushi encore à plat sur la photo était celui que je m'étais fait :-) Reiko nous a aussi fait goûté au Saké de sa région, puis on a appris aux non-français à faire sauter les crèpes, enfin je devrai dire qu'Emeric leur a appris, car moi je n'étais pas super doué là-dessus :-)

eh bien il a bien changé renaud: il écrivait sur les fachos, il écrit sur les bobos!

sinon qui va etre sur angers le weekend du 4 et 5 novembre?

Well... it's high time for me to go further on my blog... otherwise I may forget my memories before writing them!! And moreover, I'd like to post some French news, some French pictures, but I wanted to write all about my stopover day in Hong Kong first!

Thanks to Karina we go on our trip by getting higher in the hills surrounding Hong Kong! Sweet to be taken for a drive as if we were locals :-) The hills vegetation seems different from France and Australia, difficult to say why when we look close to it, but we're obviously somewhere else!!

Once on the top, the view was splendid!! Karina had us noticed that Hong Kong is a whole island group what we can indeed make out behind the impressive buildings on the 2nd picture among the 3 following each others. We hurried a bit though, cos lots of clouds suddenly appeared around us!!

Then Karina took us for a drive near the place she lives. Lots of fishing men there looking traditional, we can even eat by choosing directly the seafood in the aquariums behind the tables of the restaurants (if my memories are right).

Then we have to say good-bye to Karina... and we head off to the Market Streets. It's funny, we can find a market street for electronic devices, another one for clothes, and another one for sports items! At first I didn't plan to buy lots of things in Hong Kong, but it's quite difficult not to buy in front of all those low prices and especially when we start to bargain without noticing it just because we said we didn't want to buy!!
From 4pm onwards, it's going crazy! It's becoming even more crowded and neon lights turn on everywhere!

A small pharmacy for my mother :-) (Indeed she's a chemist and I always take Chemist's pictures abroad for her :-) ) Moreover, it's written Bonjour on it, which means "Good morning / Good afternoon" in French!!! I wonder why they wrote French words there!!?

The fruit market became very colorful, I don't recognize all the produce there!!

A local specificity, scaffoldings are made out of bamboos!!!

In the evening we miss out on the sound-and-light Laser Show!!! Lasers are played out from many buildings of downtown Hong Kong and sometimes we can even see the traditional fishing boat with its big red sail that comes out in the harbour for the show. Moreover Dixon (a Weeronian originally from Hong Kong) told me that every night they find an opportunity to have fireworks! It could have been an impressive show!!

But the laser show was around 9pm if I well remember and our plane landed at 10:30pm the day before and we were leaving at 11:30pm the next day, so we were already on our way back to the airport instead of watching the show in the harbour in front of the skyline...

Luggage seemed a bit heavier and bulkier after this small walk in the market streets!! We even took a small cart with Emeric! I was already a bit worried to check in my overweight luggage in Sydney airport but there I really wondered if they would let me through with my extra bags!! When I think officially I wasn't allowed more than 20kg...!!

Our Swiss Air plane was waiting for us, definitely not as good as Singapore Airlines that we had on our way to Australia, the air-conditioning system wasn't working at take-off time and my seat screen in front of me was always crashing... but I still managed to watch good movies!!

And then we headed off back to France, uh... Zürich in Switzerland and then France!!

Bon il est grand temps pour moi d'avancer dans mon blog, car sinon mes souvenirs vont disparaître et puis j'ai envie de mettre quelques photos de France, mais je me suis dit qu'il me fallait d'abord finir Hong Kong, alors voilà:

Grâce à Karina nous continuons notre petit voyage en voiture et grimpons dans les hauteurs des collines entourant Hong Kong! Sympa de se balader en voiture comme si nous étions des autochtones :-) Les collines que nous montons avaient une végétation différente de la France, c'était bizarre, car il était très difficile de dire à quoi était due la difference de près, mais on voyait bien qu'on était ailleurs :-)

Arrivés en haut, la vue était splendide!!! Karina nous fait remarquer qu'en fait Hong Kong est tout un archipel de pleins de petites îles ce qui se voit en effet très bien au fond sur la 2ème photo parmi les 3 qui se suivent derrière tous ces buildings impressionnants. Nous nous dépêchons néanmoins car plein de nuages font leur apparition autour de nous!!

Puis Karina nous emmène dans le quartier où elle vit, il y a de nombreux pêcheurs et l'on peut choisir directement ce que l'on veut manger dans les aquariums qui sont derrière les tables des restaurants.

Puis nous disons au revoir à Karina et nous dirigeons vers les Market Streets. C'était marrant, il y avait la Market Street pour les vêtements, celle pour le matériel électronique et celle pour les articles de sport! Moi qui à l'origine n'avait pas prévu acheter grand chose, difficile de résister devant tous ces prix à rabais et surtout quand on marchande à son insu d'autant mieux qu'on n'avait pas prévu acheter :-)!
16h arrive et on sent l'agitation augmentée, les rues se remplissent de monde de manière assez impressionnante et les néons s'allument!!

Une petite pharmacie autochtone pour maman :-) En plus avec écrit bonjour!! Allez savoir pourquoi!

Le marché aux fruits a pris des couleurs, et je ne reconnais pas tous les fruits, c'est normal?

Puis une autre spécificité locale, tous les échaffaudages sont en... bambous!!!

Le soir malheureusement nous loupons le fameux Laser Show... Les lasers jaillissent des buildings et l'on peut voir éventuellement dans la baie de Hong Kong les fameux grands bateaux de pêche à voile rouge traditionnels qui sortent alors pour l'occasion! De plus il y a souvent un feu d'artifice, Dixon un résident de Weerona College d'origine Hong Kongaise me disait que tous les jours ils trouvent une occasion de faire un feu d'artifice à Hong Kong!!

Eh oui, le laser show étant après 21h, nous étions arrivés à 22h30 la veille et là nous redécollons à 23h30, donc nous sommes déjà de retour à l'hôtel puis à l'aéroport plutôt que sur la baie à observer le spectacle!

Les bagages me semblent plus lourds et plus encombrants après ce petit tour dans les Market Streets de Hong Kong... nous prenons même un petit chariot avec Emeric! Moi qui était déjà inquiet à Sydney de passer en surpoids, là je me demande vraiment s'ils vont me laisser passer avec tout ce que je ramène!!! Moi qui n'avait le droit qu'à 20kg!!!

Notre avion Swiss Air nous attend, décidément pas aussi bien que Singapore Airlines de l'aller, entre la clim qui ne fonctionne pas au décollage, puis mon écran qui ne fait que bugguer... mais j'arrive quand même à regarder quelques bons films!!

Et c'est reparti direction la France, euh... Zürich puis la France!!

Contre l'église et le drapeau.
Elle voue une haine chronique
A la télé et aux journaux.

Elle conchie les politiques,
Les jeunes qui vont à vau-l'eau
Et les mœurs pas très catholiques,
Et les pédés et les bicots.
Elle rêve d'un ordre nouveau
Elle est facho.

Elle a surtout la nostalgie
Du sabre et du goupillon.
De la nation, de la patrie,
débarrassée d'l'immigration.
Dit qu'l'ancien temps était béni,
Comme disent la plupart des cons.

Regrette le temps des colonies,
la peine de mort légalisée,
De l'avortement interdit,
Et maudit les jeunes filles voilées.
Et elle lit National hebdo.
Elle est facho.

J'lui souhaite qu'un jour ,si elle a un môme,
Y s'retrouve à 18 balais,
Plein d'éducation et d'diplômes,
D'idées rebelles, d'humanité.
Et qu'il lui dise, tes vieux discours
Manquent singulièrement d'amour.

Qu'il rajoute à la triste dame,
Reste donc le nez dans ta merde.
J'suis amoureux d'une musulmane,
J'vote écolo et j'fume de l'herbe.
Espérons qu'ça lui fera la peau.
A la facho.

After a night at the hotel we (Emeric and I) head to the downtown streets that we saw quickly the day before on our way to the hotel by taxi.
It's impressive, it looks like the Chinatowns of big western cities, but here, this Chinatown never ends!!
The shops and restaurants signs written in Chinese are everywhere!! Fortunately a few well-known signs (for western people :-)) with our alphabet appear at times such as a 7 eleven sign as you can see on the far left-hand side of the 2nd photo. Couldn't be better as we arranged to meet with Karina in front of a 7 eleven near a subway station, but we still need to find the good one :-)...

There is a lot of small yellow and red buses and the modern buildings mix with the old ones in the shopping streets. We walked past a fruit market as well.

Then we take a footbridge to reach our subway station. We get lost a bit but we take that opportunity to have a better view of the streets.

Lost in the middle of this Chinese city, something looking French suddenly appears!! A French restaurant!! The French cuisine seems indeed quite reputed abroad :-)

Then we met Karina as planned. Karina is a former Weerona College tutor who lived there for 4 years. Emeric and I knew her from our 1st session in Weerona which was on the contrary her last session there. Talking about Karina she's also on a picture of a previous post of my blog (the Formal post). She knows Hong Kong very well as she lived there for 15 years. And she came back to Hong Kong to work in psychology after finishing her studies in Australia. It seems quite hard to find a job in Hong Kong because they want you to speak very well Cantonese for most of the jobs!!...

Matty G. (an Australian from Weerona doing studies related to the movies) told us that he buys a lot of his movie CDs in Hong Kong each time he stops over there because it's very cheap. That's why we asked Karina where to find such a DVD, VCD... shop and we were not disappointed at all!! There was a lot of recent movies in DVDS and VCDs and for not more than AU$ 4 or AU$ 10!! As you can guess we bought a few ones there :-)
On our way we stopped to be taken in photo between two lion stones, one of the Chinese symbols with the dragons.

People working in the streets look funny in their outfit with their hat and towel :-)

Karina had us noticed the big difference between government and private accommodation.

We took the ferry in the Hong Kong bay where we saw a nice Chinese-looking boat.

Then we head to Karina's car and had at the same time a splendid view over the bay. These high buildings all in a row in front of those green hills leading to inland China are impressive, they are not concentrated just in an area like the CBD of New York City or Sydney, they are all along the bay!!
